Jo Loves Shot Candle

Last week I got to meet the lovely Sarah from Jo Loves who told me all about the new fragrance launching in September but that’s for another blog post!  This post though is for the beautiful innovative shot candle that was launched back in May.  Following three years of innovation and product development, the patent pending Jo Loves Shot Candle™ and creative studio was finally unveiled.

Jo says “The Shot Candle™ concept was originally inspired by a chance moment in New York when I had the idea to create a bespoke candle that combined not one, but two fragrant moments.  It’s the first time that I’ve designed a product that invites you to become part of the creative process by blending your own moments and memories together.”

It’s simple; select your base scent from the menu of fragrance inspirations and then drop in your chosen ‘shot’ to bring your personal scent memories to life.

Whether it’s the smell of a Mediterranean garden, a summer cocktail or the scent of home, each handmade candle is completely unique to you.

no-shot

I was gifted the beautiful Mint Mojito and Charcoaled Lemons and it smells delicious!  To use your candle you insert your shot into the base and light the wick.  It’s recommended that you leave the candle burning until the entire surface of the wax has melted (approximately 2-4 hours) before extinguishing, this will ensure that the heat from the wax permanently seals the shot to the base.

The smell is incredible when its first lit and the beautiful mint aroma, if you love mojitos like moi it’s extra special.  When the two fragrances burn and melt into each other it’s like the fragrance explodes and the lemon coming through is amazing, days later even though the candle hasn’t been burned, the lemon and mint smell throughout the house is as fresh as the night it was first burned.  It’s like Summer every day now in the house and the smell reminds me of a fabulous Italian holiday we had a few years ago.

These are some of the amazing fragrances you can choose from for the CANDLE BASE SELECTION and Jo’s explanation for each …

MINT MOJITO
I have poured this quintessential summer cocktail into a deliciously fragranced shot. Reminiscent of sunshine and holidays, an aromatic mezze of mint leaves has been thrown over wild, culinary herbs to create an energising infusion which smells like fresh air.

  • Peppermint, Spearmint, Lavender, Gardenia, Rose, Muguet, Apple, Violet, Pine, Patchouli, Amber

TAHITIAN GARDENIA
Rich and identifiable, I wanted this shot to capture Gardenia’s elegant and deliciously creamy character. This is a truly exotic bouquet of intense, heady florals evocative of warm summer evenings where the night air is sweetly perfumed and feels almost magical.

  • Gardenia, Freesia, Osmanthus, Incense, Orange Blossom, Iris, Peony, Tuberose, Vetiver, Cashmere Woods, Musk

CHARCOALED LEMONS
Throughout the summer, I love to throw handfuls of huge, ripe lemons onto the barbeque. As the fruit gets hot, bursts of fresh, citrus steam laced with a hint of smoky caramel weaves its way inside, filling the house with the scent of clean cologne.

  • Lemon, Lime, Bergamot, Orange, Pepper, Jasmine, Patchouli, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Maple, Amber

FIG TREES
Fig has such a distinctive smell and reminds me of Capri where the scent of sun warmed figs lingers gently in the air. This sophisticated and decadent shot carefully blends layers of sweet, ripe fruit with green leafy stems and rich, earthy woods.

  • Citrus, Green, Cassis, Rose, White Flowers, Fig, Cedar, Amber, Tonka Bean

And these are the gorgeous CANDLE SHOT™ SELECTION to add

I love to fill my home with roses. Fresh and elegant, this white Norma Jean rose is perfectly balanced with subtle strands of peppered citrus and soft cedarwood which literally blooms as it floats through the air.
