Bespoke Facial with Jeanne Brophy

Last week I headed out to Jeanne Brophys Treatments Rooms in Marino for what I can only describe as the Rolls Royce of facials….yes indeed-y Rolls Royce!  It was BEAUT-ti-ful.  I’m all about the facials these days and this was something quite special.

Jeannes whole treatment concept is about creating a bespoke experience for each clients skin. She believes that while you can get great results from all facials, they are normally made to suit the masses rather than each individuals needs.  Jeanne believes that your skin is like a fingerprint, we are all different and professional treatments should reflect that.  Her holistic approach involves mixing skincare brands, massage techniques and machines to create a completely personalised experience.

All treatments start with a comprehensive consultation. Rather than this just looking at the standard medical stuff, Jeanne delves into skin health looking at everything from stress levels and diet through to looking at your whole skin-care routine and advising what should stay and what should go.

My main concern was to create radiance and a more even skin tone.  Jeanne also noticed a tendency towards rosacea in the skin so also recommended adding steps to manage inflammation.  We decided on an active treatment but with some much needed relaxation.

After cleansing thoroughly with Image Skincare Vital C cleanser, Jeanne continued with Zo by Obagi Enzyme Exfoliator which gently sloughs off dead cells. This was followed by a deeper exfoliaton with a device called a Sonic Peeler, this uses water with pressure to lift dead cells and deep cleanse the skin without over stimulating.

The exfoliaton was followed by a sonophoresis machine using a cocktail of vitamins from Environ to help stimulate collagen and even skin tone.  The blend can also help to firm and tighten pores.  Sonophoresis uses sound waves to create gaps between skin cells allowing deeper penetration of active ingredients.  It increases absorption by 1000% compared to massage!

The treatment continued with red light therapy to reduce inflammation and strengthen capillary wall followed by a full facial massage.  The treatment finished with a Yon-Ka setting mask applied over eyes and to full face which sets and peels of in one.  Jeanne left me for awhile to relax and enjoy the gorgeous meditation music and stillness of her treatment room.  A truly lush experience and then she followed that up with a relaxing hand and arm massage.

Jeannes Treatment room is a different experience to visiting a salon or spa, aside from the wonderful bespoke treatment, you feel you’re her only client that day as there’s no appointment booked too close to yours before or after, a very unique experience.

While my skin felt beautifully soft and smooth straight away, two days later it was noticeably more radiant and a more even skin tone.  Jeanne advised using a cream with Vitamin C and this has improved my complexion tremendously and I have less redness and more even skintone.  If you have any concerns about your skin you really need to visit Jeannes Treatment Rooms for a very special bespoke facial tailored to your individual requirements.
