Getting Mani & Pedi Ready for Party Season

So it’s Winter and ordinarily I don’t bother with pedi’s at this time of year but as I’m going away for New Years and will be in open toe heels I thought I’d make sure my feet get a little treat too on the run up to the festivities.

I headed to my favourite nail tech Becky Byrne of Style ‘n’ File for a pedi and mani in time for party season.

Becky is a CND Education Ambassador and an Award Winning Nail Pro, she works from her studio outside Naas when she’s not training with CND.

She started my pedicure with a warm soak in her Marine Mineral Bath with bubbley jets to massage my very tired feet.  After my little soak she shaped my toe nails and removed any cuticles from the nail plate.  She then got to work then on my feet, one at a time as the other soaked, she started to smooth and remove any Callus skin.

feet1 Becky applied a short callus peel and then buffed away remaining hard skin from my feet, following on from this she used an invigorating Marine Salt Scrub on my lower leg to remove any dry skin, leaving my skin beautifully fresh.  Becky used an A.H.A. Sea Salt Scrub on my feet, leaving them baby soft and subtle.  A Marine Cooling Mask was then applied to both feet, cooling and releasing any stress or tension, while the mask soaked she applied a Solaroil and Cuticle Eraser Moisture pack to my toes to give them a new lease of life!

She then wrapped up my feet and let the mask soak in for another 8 minutes….pure bliss as the chair I was sitting in massaged me.   To finish off Becky massaged a deeply moisturising Marine Mineral Oil into my feet and lower leg, paying extra attention to any dry areas by applying Cucumber Heel Therapy.  It was such a treat, I normally only have a pedi maybe once in Summer but from  Beky now on I will be looking after my feet more, to be fair they so deserve it as they have alot to carry around!   I choose the CND Vinylux Polish in Pink Bikini and Becky applied CND Solar Oil to nourish.

After peeling myself off the massage chair I had a manicure, Becky started my hands using Cuticle Away to gently but effectively remove any cuticle from my nail plate that was ‘Hitching a ride’ down my nail.  She then shaped my nails and ScrubFresh-ed to eliminate surface contaminants and purify the nail plate layers.  She then applied a thin coat of base coat and two coats of my fav Shellac Colour … Beckoning Begonia (this is it in Vinylux click here).  Becky detailed my colour with Lecente Glitter in Baby Pink, covering one nail was completely in glitter and the rest had a beautiful glitter fade.  She then applied a top coat and finished with Solar Oil to nourish and hydrate my nails and surrounding areas.
