My Favourite Make Up Brushes

There’s an old saying that a tradesman is only as good as his tools, and I find this to be true for make up as well.  A good set of makeup brushes can really make all the difference to your application and finished look.

I genuinely believe that they can transform a look from just nice to flawless.  I have a ridiculous amount of brushes in my own collection but I’ve narrowed it down to give you my favourites.

Blank Canvas F20 Flat Buffer Brush

This is one of my top brushes for applying foundation.  It can be used to stipple or buff your foundation on to give an airbrush finish.  Shop here

Real Techniques Duo-Fiber Contouring Brush

Since starting contouring, this duo-fiber contouring brush has become my staple product.  The perfect density yet still remaining soft, this brush blends product so easily which is exactly what you want to give a natural look when contouring.

Pink Avenue Powder Brush

I love a large head and soft bristles on a powder brush and this recent find of mine ticks all the boxes.  It picks up powder easily, spreads well and gives a lovely even finish.

EcoTools Bamboo Blush Brush

EcoTools Bamboo Blush Brush

Although a lot of people like angled brushes for their blusher, I prefer this rounded blush brush from EcoTools.  This brush is seriously soft and is the perfect size to apply colour to the apples of my cheeks.   It picks up even the sheerest of blushers and is a staple product in my collection.

Nima Brush Elite 5 Piece Eye Detail Set

Unfortunately the Nima Brushes can’t be bought individually but they are split into small set which are extremely affordable.  Nima Brushes are easily my all-time favourite brand with the 5 piece eye set being particularly great.  Containing a smudger, a shader, a pencil brush, an angled brush and a liner brush – this set would be all you need for any eye makeup look.  Very high quality and long lasting, I can’t fault this set at all.  Shop here
